Jake #2212

Jake's Available Story
Hi, my name is Jake (#2212) and my foster mom always tells me "Jake you take the cake," but I didn't take any cake, I've never stolen a crumb from the counter, table or anywhere else. OK, so once I licked oatmeal from a bowl but big woop, Mom said "no" and I was really sorry, but it was right there and no one was looking.
My journey started in Coos Bay where I was picked up as a stray. I'm about 2 years old and weigh 55 lbs with a Golden coat of curls. I have half a tail and when I get real excited, it goes round and round like a propeller. I might have a little Border Collie in me as I run super fast, am very agile, & my body type is slim. Boy, if you could work with me to catch a frisbee or go through an agility challenge, that would be awesome. I am a natural at all that stuff.
I was a real mess when they rescued me. After some nice people transported me to Portland over Thanksgiving weekend, I spent some time in boarding and then I was neutered, bathed and given an all around tune up for doggies. Everyone at the vets thought I was a super boy. When I first came to my foster home, I was a little anxious that I would get left behind so I stuck real close to my mom. I never left her out of my sight for even a minute. I bond with one person strongly but do like to play with everyone in the house. I can keep myself pretty busy all day long while making my family laugh at my silliness. You will almost always find me with a ball, toy or bone; sometimes I even fall asleep with my soft toy still in my mouth. We go for walks everyday and right now I'm learning how to walk on a leash, I think it's a great tug of war toy. A harness may be the way to go for me.
Annie is my dog friend that I live with. She is a 10 year old chocolate lab and I just can't seem to give her enough kisses. I really like to share her doggy bed even though I have my own. She wishes I would leave her alone sometimes and gets a little grumpy with me so Mom makes me leave stop pestering her.
I'm very gentle and want you to be happy with me, so I try hard to behave. I do know how to sit. I'm always aware of what is going on and only bark when concerned about something. Mom says I give the best kisses, behave really well in the house, and like to go for car rides. I also like to sleep on my doggy bed next to my mom (I'm very quiet all night long). Sometimes I'm allowed to get on the couch to snuggle but never the bed Dad says.
If you have another dog for me to live with that would be fun. I like bigger dogs better than little dogs. Some little dogs remind me of cats and I want to chase them. I'm a great snuggler and even though I am a energetic youngster, I'm very gentle and sweet. You will never be lonesome with my positive attitude and attention.
My foster family loves me very much but it's time for me to find my forever home where they have the time to nurture my puppy ways on my path to becoming an excellent life partner that will bring you much joy and happiness. I am a special dog and hope that's what you are looking for.
