More about Bailey...

October 29, 2003

Bailey in Water Therapy Bailey has been doing remarkably well in the last four weeks. She has improved to the point where she is using her right leg (the one that had surgery) more than her left (the one that needs surgery). She was even seen trying to jump up with her front legs off the ground. This is something she had never done before.

Bailey has been doing water therapy with Dr. Bianca Shaw at Veterinary Referral Center of Portland. Not only has Dr. Shaw has been wonderful with Bailey, but with all of our dogs — Jesse, Koty, and Ginny.

Because of the additional therapy, we are continuing to look for donations to cover Bailey's recovery.

Bailey goes in for her second hip surgery on November 6 at Murrayhill with Dr. Goodman. She will resume therapy about 10-14 days after that. We will be waiting for her stitches to be removed. She is getting stronger every day and her left hip muscles are going into the next surgery in better shape than before with her right.

We are all working hard to give this delightful pup — who is now 11-months-old — a normal life.
