Ginny had her two week
check-up yesterday afternoon and passed with flying colors! :o)
This hip has gone a lot smoother than the first mainly due to the fact that the hip was in better shape and therefore is healing more rapidly.
Ginny has been having a great time with Julie and Kevin. She is a tough one to keep quiet as there is so much activity going by her pen, cats, dogs and people. Ginny has the two pens to go between so that gives her a little variety.
Dr. Munjar says she has four to six weeks of healing and will then be ready for the open road. I am sure that seems like a lifetime to Ginny but it will probably be here before we know it and we will be saying good-bye to our precious Ginny.

As you can see from the accompanying picture, Ginny is recovering from her second hip just great! In fact she is feeling sooooooo good that she is becoming bored in her pen.
Ginny still has to have her activity level restrained but she sure doesn't know why. She probably feels better now than she has for her whole life of ten months! She is a little stinker and barks and tries to talk herself out of her pen as often as possible. Her walks still have to be kept to a minimum and on leash and this she just does not understand at all.
She would love to run through the house chasing the cats and around the yard chasing a ball, dog or whatever she can. So this is probably one of the hardest stages for her because she feels so good and just wants to be a puppy again.
Just another month, Ginny, and you will be able to join the best of them. Her adoption is imminent as we do have people interested in having her join their forever home.
She has been a great little patient. Now she just has to have a little more patience. Not easy when you are a ten month old puppy and as cute as a bug's ear!

Ginny #228.
Our story of Ginny will now progress into
updates of Ginny and her hew forever home with Jessica and Jonathon.
This couple had previously adopted Blazer
from Golden Bond until he passed away from cancer last November.
Jessica said it took her months to be able to look at our website
again, however the time was now right to open their home to another
Golden.
After following the story of Ginny on
our website, they happened to be able to meet her between hip
surgeries and fell in love. Continuing to track her
progress, they knew she was the dog for them. After recovery from
her second surgery, we talked with Dr Munjar about when she could
be adopted. Jessica and Jonathan had another visit with Ginny
and the doctor, and got the go ahead that she can move to her
new home.(!)
Ginny had quite a homecoming. She has been showered with company, both dogs and humans, gifts of toys and lots of kisses. Their 12 year old Golden Lucy has been staying close by Ginny, and will be a great role model.
Ginny is makeing the transition into her
new home and routine with no problems. She gets very excited when
she sees her leash, and loves to go for a walk. With continued
progression of her healing, Ginny can look forward to a lifetime
being loved and pampered in her new home. A very special forever
home for our very special Ginny.

Hi Patsy,
Ginny has blossomed in a week. She is
FULL of energy and wants to run, roll and play wrestlemania! We
have to watch her carefully as she seems so pain free that her
limits are endless! We had 42 people here yesterday for lunch
and she was a dream. Excited, but controlled and towards the end,
walked freely among the guests without food snatching or barking,
etc.! Her leash training is going well. Yesterday, Jon was able
to have slack leash the entire walk, no pulling. She is fascinated
with the birds and wants to retrieve each and everyone! We have
several feeders and she watches very carefully, their every move!
Her fur is healthy and she tolerated a bath nicely. She romped
thru the sprinklers and rolled like a kid over and over. Of course,
I was smiling, yet gasping she was not hurting herself!!! She
is a love, and we thank you everyday for allowing us placement
at this time in her life!
We meet Dr.Munjar at 11:00am for an x-ray, June 12th, Wednesday....
