Scarlette #0165
Crossed the Rainbow Bridge on March 29, 2005
We learned recently that Scarlette (#165) crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Scarlette was a favorite of all those at Golden Bond who knew her. Although she was more than 10 years old and a little deaf, she loved to play with the younger dogs and would tell them firmly when she had enough. She always welcomed her foster mom at the door with a toy and a vocabulary of whines, moans, groans and growls that was always good for a fit of human giggles.
Scarlette was a stray, found in southern Oregon. After waiting patiently at Golden Bond for 15 months, she was found and adopted by Cheryl whom she loved unconditionally and was equally loved in return. Here are Cheryl's words:
"My wonderful companion Scarlette crossed the Rainbow Bridge on March 29, 2005. Health issues were causing her to have many more bad days than good days, and I had to make what I felt was the most loving and responsible decision for Scarlett.
"It has been an extremely difficult loss for me. I miss her more than I can say . She was such a trooper. Everyone who was graced by Scarlett's presence loved her and was very touched by her story."
At Golden Bond, we are saddened to know that Scarlette has gone to the Bridge, but we can almost see her, directing the play, and giving the youngsters the what-for if they get out of line.
