Sunny #449
Crossed the Rainbow Bridge September 25, 2008
Sunny (#449), Golden Bond Rescue's oldest permanent foster, crossed the Rainbow Bridge, on September 25th, 2008, just one month shy of turning 17 years old. She was released to Golden Bond Rescue, at the age of 11, by her family of origin, who could no longer keep her, due to unfortunate circumstances. After much waiting, it was decided that Sunny would become a permanent foster, with her already existing foster family, who miss her dearly. She was both affectionate and sassy, easily winning the hearts of almost every human she encountered, and she maintained the status of Queen Bee, with all of her foster brothers and sisters, right up to the time of her passing.
If Sunny were here, she would want to say THANK YOU to all the wonderful folks in GBR, who gave her a golden life, along with those at Milner Veterinary Hospital, Southgate Animal Clinic, Darlene, and Barb J., for their kindness and compassion in caring for her, in so many big and little ways.
She would also like to thank friends, Dick and Rita, for giving her a special resting place, under the trees, in sight of The Mountain.
Your foster Mom and Dad will always have a special place in their hearts for you Sunny girl. We have a big hole in our hearts, right now, that will remain for a long time to come, and even as the tears continue to flow, the precious memories of having you, as a part of our family, cannot be taken away.
Sunny becomes a Permanent Foster April 5, 2005
Sunny (#449), at 11 years young, was released to Golden Bond Rescue after her owners had a baby and moved to an apartment, where they were unable to keep her inside with them. Her sudden transition to being an outdoor dog was exasperated by a landlord who attempted to silence her barking with a BB gun. After waiting such a long time for her forever home, it was decided that Sunny would become a permanent foster, living out her life with her foster family who love her dearly. Her forever home was right under her nose.
She has experienced some neurological difficulties, as of late, and that has aged her a bit. But she still has lots of spunk, at 13-1/2 years old. She reigns as "the queen bee" with Gus, and all the foster dogs who come to visit, as part of the pack, while they await their forever homes.
Sunny would like to say, "THANKS!", to all of the folks at Golden Bond Rescue who have advocated on her behalf and given her a "golden life".
