Molly #479
Crossed the Rainbow Bridge January 2011
Molly (#479) — Our "perma-puppy" came into our foster care in December 2003 at the tender age of 10 months old. She had severe bilateral hip dysplasia and was only using 3 legs. She had physical therapy with Dr. Shaw at Back on Track and built up enough muscle to have her first surgery a FHO on her left leg (which she wasn't using) and then recuperation and recovery. We fell in love with her when she looked us straight in the eyes and howled at us. She always loved talking. Our resident Golden (Dealer) loved her, too.
When Molly went in for her second hip surgery, he was looking all over for her and was worried. That is when we decided she needed to be ours and we adopted her in April 2004. She and Dealer were the foster hosts with the most. They were always looking for the next friend, helping our fosters recuperate from hip and knee surgeries, and loving each and every one and being a little sad when they left.
Molly and Dealer were both canine blood donors for Dove Lewis Blood Bank with Molly donating 25 units in her lifetime. She always loved the squeaky tennis ball she got as a gift for donating. We had 7 of the most beautiful years with our beloved Molly. Our happy little girl who we nicknamed "perma-puppy". Even the day she left us she was a happy-go-lucky girl who was having trouble breathing. Cancer took our sweet girl long before we were ready to give her up. It was sudden and aggressive. We didn't know there was a problem until the day she went to the Rainbow Bridge.
Molly you are in good company there — Murphy-1 and Murphy-2, and your pillow and big buddy Gulliver are waiting for you. I am going to keep Dealer and Milo here with us for a few more years. I am wishing for apple trees to drop those nummy balls for you and plenty of squirrels to chase, lots of water to swim in, two great hips so you never grow tired or painful and of course, your favorite... squeaky tennis balls!
