Noel #1333

Crossed the Rainbow Bridge February 2009

Noel #1333Maybe Honey, formerly Noel (1333), started her life at eight. Maybe she wasn't really eight, with rescues it is hard to tell for sure. All I know is that she wore her years of neglect with the dignity of a fine lady. After being dumped on the streets of Salem, the shelter notified Golden Bond of her presence there and the urgent need to claim her. Claim her they did and all the king's men at Murry Hill Vet Clinic, worked to save the life of this most gentle of souls.

Honey joined my family in December of 2005, which at the time included Emily, another GB dog. She welcomed all who entered our home, be they human or fur kids. All were welcome, all were loved. During this time she only knew kindness, enjoying the life she was now given. We took her to the banks of the Columbia, Forest Park and every year in winter-time to Arizona, where she could chase the roadrunners and even a coyote. At 11 years old she still ran like the wind.

That all ended in February as the breast cancer she had survived two years earlier returned with a vengeance. For the first eight years of her life, she had been used for breeding somewhere and now, Honey would pay the ultimate price. All the king's horses and all the king's men could not help Honey... the most gentle of souls.

Noel #1333Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord this home to keep
To bring my owners lots of pleasure
To be their little golden treasure
To lift their hearts and help them heal
the loss of Amber & Frieda, A very big deal
So with my smile and waggy tail
This job I am given, I will not fail
I found a home that needed me
To be a friend to Emily
The Murrayhill Vets, they made me well
From spay to teeth to ears that smell
And now that my new life has started
It is from that shelter I have permanently parted
Now when I lay me down to rest
With thanks I say "Golden Bond" you are the best
