Pete #1882
Crossed the Rainbow Bridge July 11, 2011
It is with great sadness that I am writing to inform you that our golden Pete (#188), was put to sleep on July 11, 2011. We fostered and then adopted him about ten years ago from your group. We were told at the time that he was picked up after being found wandering in southern Oregon, possibly the coast area, and his age was guessed to be between 3 & 5 years old. After a trip to the vet there for neutering, I met a Golden Bond volunteer at a school parking lot in Cottage Grove and brought him home. Then began a love affair that lasted many happy years. The pain of his passing has been excruciating for my husband and I, but his metastases of what the vet believed to be Mast Cell Tumor, made it a struggle for Pete even to breathe at the last. It was unbearable for us to let him struggle any longer. We are so very grateful that he came into our lives, and will always hold him close in our hearts though no longer in our arms.
Thank you for the gift of Pete, he was my loving, loyal & constant companion and more. I will miss him all my life.
Most sincerely,
Jeanine
