Jonah #1765

Crossed the Rainbow Bridge April 22, 2011

Jonah 1765Jonah (#1765) came to me in October, 2008. He was to be my first foster dog for Golden Bond Rescue. Through various attempts and one failed adoption, it became clear that his permanent home was meant to be with me. Jonah was an easy dog with which to fall in love. He had some funny personality traits that always left me puzzled. He hated to go outside, so I would leave the back door open while I did yard work and he would stand in the house with his head sticking out watching me. Jonah hated the car, so we only went to the vet. He loved playing ball and was always happiest when one was in his mouth. He was also a great time-teller and would never let one minute pass beyond dinner or breakfast time!  His funniest trait that I miss the most was when I was cooking, and he would stand between me and the counter just in case something fell! I still leave that space empty when cooking. At the beginning of this year, I noticed a lump on his neck; it turned out to be cancer. On 4-22-2011, we said our goodbyes. I loved Jonah and he loved me. I miss him everyday. I would like to thank Dr. Steve Milner of Milner Veterinary Clinic for the exceptional care given to Jonah at the end, as well as Jill Groves for all of her advice. The day will come when I will be able to think of Jonah without crying. I will then be ready to foster again.

Thank you Golden Bond Rescue for bringing this sweet boy into my life.
