Napoleon #0224

Crossed the Rainbow Bridge August 10, 2011

Napoleon #0224Naps (Napoleon #0224) passed away August 10th 2011. He was having severe hip problems and also had a large tumor in his chest that could not be operated on. We adopted Naps thru Gold Bond in October 2002. He spent most of his early life kenneled and was a very energetic and playful puppy. He was the perfect dog for our family. He loved playing with our 7 and 17 year old boys and seemed like another kid in our family. Our oldest son, Brent, often corrected us and called Naps his brother, not his dog. Naps loved going to the beach and chasing balls thrown into the surf and especially liked going to Timothy Lake and camping. He was always a overgrown puppy and we often wondered when he would slow down. At the beginning of 2011 Naps started to have some hip problems that really started to change him. We took him to the vet and the doc informed us he had a broken hip and also a large tumor growing in his chest that was not operable. The last several months were very special because we had a chance to say goodbye and give him all the love he deserved. After some long discussions we had to let him go. It was the hardest decision we ever had to make. Naps will always be part of our family and be remembered forever. Thank you Gold Bond for bringing him into our lives.

Napoleon's Adoption Story

Napoleon #0224Ron and Maria and son Brent, 8, have welcomed Napoleon #0224 into their family with great enthusiasm and joy. After Napoleon's first grooming, Brent dressed him in an Oregon State kerchief, so that there would be no question about Napoleon's collegiate allegiance. He was greeted by his new family with a new collar, ID tag and kong - already filled with peanut butter. This is the first dog for Napoleon's new family, so we are all thrilled that he will have an active boy to play with. He'll also get a chance to go to obedience in classes with Brent and his mom or dad. His loving foster parents, Pete and Nancy, bid him farewell with sadness, but are confident that he has found his new forever family. Nappy, this is the first week of the rest of your life - have a happy one!
